At first, I took this personally, and thought, some days there just isn’t time for this, I have SOOOO MUCH to do. Anyone in business knows, their are many more TASKS on the “To-Do List” than their is time in the day… so I was just like… “whatever in my head,” and kept looking for the silver bullet elsewhere.

I did respect my mentor, and after 5 months of having a very slow moving business (understatement of the year) I decided it was time to take her advice to heart. So, I finally committed to attaining 3 quality conversations a day with people I felt had potential, no excuses.

After a few weeks of being aggressive…

I found myself having no friends left to approach, and I was tired of running around the city, the mall, the car dealerships, and after posting a few ads I put in the penny saver, putting magnets on my car, doing trade shows… then putting out massive flyers, road signs, and the $100-Bill business drop cards… I found myself able to produce some leads, but not nearly enough to get to the mark of, 3 quality conversations per day.

I figured out on average, I would have to call about 50-100 phone numbers to get 20 live conversations in a day, and that usually produced about 3 quality conversations with potential prospects.

Then a different mentor that I approached, shared with me the idea of calling home business leads, and I said, “This makes perfect sense….” and I dove in head over heels. The first 3 months were brutal, as I didn’t understand the habits of prospecting, connecting, deflecting, asking, listening, compelling and closing… I spun my wheels, and grabbed scripts from different people and created my own MELTING POT SCRIPT, that wasn’t effective the first 90 days! UGGGG, painful!

Then, all of a sudden, day 97 it happened… I recruited my first lead into my business! WOW, how exciting! Then a week later another, then a week later 3 joined me… then the next week, the same, and then 4 the following friday…

I finally felt the sands under my feet shift away, and what was left… was granite.

It became as easy to recruit as it was to make a box of macaroni and cheese for my kids. I had developed an interview recipe, and the good habits to go with prospecting purchased leads.

I realized that… I had finally developed a natural recruiting system that others could now copy.
