"Bob
Halkidis is an outstanding hockey instructor. My two boys (7 and 10) have
shown tremendous growth as young aspiring hockey players thanks to Coach Bob's
enthusiasm, talent and expertise. Instruction includes the fundamentals
necessary for future development as well as advanced techniques as appropriate
to the level of the students. Practices are well organized, and the kids
have a great time. I too am a much better hockey player (42) because of
the instruction that he has provided me. I strongly recommend Coach Bob to
any one interested in taking their next step in the game, or seeing if hockey is
something for them. You will not regret it." - Dr. S. Sandford,

Bob has taught my son, the key ingredients in skill
development. Bob has rare that ability to teach the important fundamentals of
the game. He keeps it simple and fun, yet creates a very effective environment
teach these skills. Thanks, so much for all your help. A very satisfied parent.

When it comes to kids and playing hockey, it is supposed to
be about having fun! Bob let my son Thomas, have fun when he recently played
for him. Although it was only for a few practices and 1 tournament, Thomas
was able to develop and become a better player because he wasn't constantly
being threatened, like he was all season by his local team coach, that if he
made a mistake he was going to be benched. Bob let him create, make
mistakes, have fun and for that we are thankful.
My son Thomas is a defensman. Bob has learned from and played with some of
the best the game has ever seen and I am thanful to him for sharing just
some of that knowledge with him. I just wish there were mor opportunities
for Thomas to be able to play for him. Bob, if you read this, we are in,
just let us know when and where!
Coach's like Bob Halkidis and Jack Capuano are hard to find. These guys have
played the game at it's highest level and they are willing to teach what
they've learned to young, developing hockey players and not just teach it
because anyone can do that, they are very good at teaching it to kids.
Thomas has been fortunate enough to play for both Bob and Jack since the
start of his young hockey career and both of these men run a simliar
practice and bench. It is one where the kids are on the ice working hard,
being challenged, learning the little things about the game and all the
while, they are having fun doing it.
Thanks again Bob for taking the time to work with Thomas, we greatly enjoyed
the opportunity and time that he spent with you. - L. Walsh, Charleston, SC

Our son regularly trains with Bob Halkidis and has
improved significantly in his knowledge and skills as a defenseman. His
overall speed, when to close the gap, and setting up plays in the
defensive zone has made him play with more confidence and has improved
his vision of the ice. With hard training and great coaching our son is
becoming a better player and has a more intense love of the game. - D.

Bob, has been working with my son just a few short weeks and I could tell that soon, a big difference already in my son skating level. He is able to combine skating instruction and hockey development all in one session. Bob, demonstrates to me and my son the qualities I feel like my son needs to excel in his hockey development. I am so glad we are able to have the opportunity to train under Bob's leadership. His knowledge and experience on the ice makes him a great example and mentor for my son. I also like his professional manner he has with the players and parents that attend his camps and lessons.

Our son worked with Bob in a number of 1-on-1
sessions over the winter season. He really enjoyed it and learned
more than any group session could teach him. We liked the personal
touch and his attention to detail. He outlined his strengths and
weaknesses and built a program to improve in all of those areas. We
noticed a big difference from his skill level at the beginning of
the season vs the end of the season as a result of his coaching.
Thanks Bob! - Michele K,

My son had the opportunity to travel to Sweden this spring with a team of young hockey players coached by Bob. What an incredible experience! This group of boys had never played together as a team before and with Bob's knowledge and expertise instruction the team bonded on and off the ice. As a parent I was impressed with Bob's ability to motivate these young players and bring out the best in each of them. From the player development side my son appreciated Bob's knowledge of the game and the chance to learn new game skills. It was a great experience for my son and he looks forward to working with Bob again.

- Bob is the first person, in the 5 years that my son has been playing hockey in
Charlotte, to show Jordan what it means to have a professional training session.
I noticed not only an improvement in Jordan's hockey playing, but his attitude and willingness to give his all to the game became top priority for him. Bob seems tireless of the hours of ice time he gives to the kids at Extreme Ice Center. He is always willing to give more if you ask. His training methods are the best I have seen in the years we have been in hockey.

My 13
year old son has been playing travel hockey for eight
seasons now, and currently plays AAA for Team Carolina.
We have a great coach at TC, but there is only so much
individual attention a coach can provide when there
are 15-20 players on the ice.
This
is where Bob Halkidis comes in. We moved here from
upstate New York this past summer and my son George has
been training with Bob weekly for the past four
months. As a former NHL'er, Bob knows what it takes to
be a great hockey player and shares his years
of knowledge and experience with the players.
He will break
down a drill and explain how they need to do it, why
they need to do it, and how it will help them perform
better in a game situation. He tweaks the little
nuances of their skating stride, in order to get
maximum power, quickness and speed. He works on
developing softer hands for better puck handling
ability. He works on improving the accuracy
and/or power of their shots. He works on the proper
mechanics of checking so the kids can effectively remove
the opposing team's player from the puck.
In
addition, Bob teaches the players the mental aspects of
the game. What they
should
be thinking about in certain game situations, how to
angle off an opposing player to gain possession of the
puck, how to properly fight for the puck in the corners,
how and why to get their shots off faster, and these are
just a few simple examples.
Lastly, Bob has a great personality both on and off the
ice. He genuinely cares about the kids and my son looks
forward to every session with him. As a parent, I can
see the results when game time comes and honestly
believe that we are lucky to have someone like him here
in the Charlotte area. Whether you are a beginner or
play at the highest level, you will become a better
hockey player by training with Bob, and have a lot of
fun in the process. - Jerry Gerasimou,

My son,
Trent, came to Bobby a few months back. He had a love
for hockey and had been playing on and off since he was
3. He was ready to take that next step. Bob was and
still is the coach for him. He not only has made a
drastic change, in a short time, in his skating and
stick handling, but also his presence on the ice and his
attitude. Bob just does a great job with all ages, he
makes it fun, while teaching that hard work gets you
there. Charlotte is lucky to have such a great mentor
and coach for the game of hockey. Beth Carter, Monroe, NC

Bob has a knack for breaking
down the sport of hockey and teaching it even to the
most novice hockey player. He is a very good instructor
and an exceptional coach. My son was lucky enough to
have him as a coach for two years. The knowledge and
passion he brought to the team were unmatched. - Lynn Kennedy, Winston Salem, NC

Our Son Dan has played hockey
for Bob Halkidis the last 3 years and the growth as a
hockey player we have witnessed along with the
appreciation of the game has been very rewarding. Bob
has played the game with success, understands what it
takes to play at a very high level and still has the
passion for the game. One thing you notice as a parent
watching Bob coach is that he is a Coach; all the
practices have been planned, there is a method to what
he is communicating out on the ice; and at the end of
the year your hockey player has developed as a player
both on and off the ice. The practices can be hard, you
will see the look of agony on the faces of the players
but at the end of the practice when Bob calls them over
or goes into the locker room with them; they end the day
upbeat and ready to go play again. We really appreciate
the opportunity our Son has had by playing for and
learning from Bob Halkidis; whether Dan ever plays at a
higher level or not, we know that he has learned the
game from a Coach who strived to make him the best
player that he can be. - Jeff and Lisa Armstrong, Greensboro, NC

Bob Halkidis is an outstanding hockey coach! Our boys' skill
level, confidence and love of the game have soared since his instruction.
Bob's professional, positive, constructive, fun, action packed approach to
teaching make his lessons a great opportunity for anyone wanting the extra edge
in their game. - Marcy and Keith Morrison Charlotte NC

Bob is well respected amongst the kids, and they love learning
from him. He always has a way of challenging the players, at every level, while
keeping it fun. - Tim Mazikowski - Head Coach Mite Select - Jr. Checkers

Over the past 8 years, I have been involved coaching youth
hockey in several programs at various ages and skill levels and have seen my
share of so called "professional" instruction. After enrolling in your program,
I can honestly say I'm most impressed with the instruction my boys received
attending your clinics. They are well planned, instructive, creative, fluid and
keeping the players interested and focused on the key physical and mental
elements required to become a better player. With ice time costs at a premium,
it is refreshing to see the ice being utilized efficiently where parents and
kids truly receive value and "truly professional" instruction. - Lou Verrone,
Charlotte NC
-
Bob is a terrific teacher of the game of Hockey. His teaching
style relates well to both youth and adult players alike. As youth hockey coach
and adult player, I truly appreciate Bob's professionalism, enthusiasm, guidance
and overall commitment to the growth of Hockey in the Charlotte, NC area. --

It has been great coaching with you the last few years. You have
always worked with the basics in new fun and exciting ways. I like the way your
always thinking to make the drills as game like as possible. Adding checking
bags, rubber blocking pucks and stick handling tools to your camps have really
shown your ingenuity to development. Your summer / spring and weekend camps have
helped Garrett's play tremendously. This year he really
is changing his game. Scoring four goals against AAA TPH in one game and getting
three key goals and assists up in AAA tournament in Toronto really shows how he
is improving. Your off ice video a few years back has also helped him and taught
him the importance of plyometric drills at an early age. Thanks and good luck in
your future training sessions. - Dave Sunda, Team Carolina AAA coach.
